The Only Errors and Omissions
Policy Designed for NSA Members and Endorsed
by NSA
NSA attracts members with a wide variety of practices. One of the best
aspects of this diversity is that it challenges the association to be flexible
and responsive qualities that must be
reflected in a professional liability program.
After months of research, including input from the Insurance Committee, the
Board of Governors, and individual members, FTJ developed a program for NSA that
meets the needs of members. The result is a basic plan that addresses the
exposures NSA members most frequently face. Special optional endorsements, priced
separately, are available to those whose practices include annuity and mutual
fund sales, and audits.
Flexibility.
The key to the program is in its flexibility. You purchase just the right
amount of protection no matter how broad or focused the services provided by
your firm.
You also can tailor your plan with flexible coverage limits and deductibles.
Choose the coverage limits that suit your personal assets and the wealth and
complexity of your clients' situations. Ask about the easy installment plan.
Plan Features.
Dependability. When
you need stable protection, you can depend on FTJ, NSA's group insurance
administrator for more than 28 years, and St. Paul Fire and Marine, one of the
nation's most experienced providers of professional liability insurance. The St.
Paul is a leading global property-liability insurance company and consistently
receives top ratings from independent rating agencies such as A. M. Best,
Standard & Poor's, and Moody's Financial Services.
Exceptional coverage.
As an NSA member, you and your employees
including temporary employees are protected
for professional services performed as an accountant, bookkeeper, enrolled
agent, tax preparer or notary public. This plan also covers independent
contractors you hire, as well as your predecessor and successor in your
business.
Prior acts coverage.
If after purchasing this plan you are sued for actions that occurred prior to
the effective date of the policy, you will still be covered for potential
losses, subject to policy terms and conditions.
Defense expenses.
Defense expenses are paid in addition to the limits of your coverage.
Reporting period. A
60-day reporting period will automatically apply at the end of the policy year,
with no additional premium. Also available, for an additional premium, are
Extended Reporting Period Endorsements for 12 months, 24 months, 36 months and
unlimited time period.
Disciplinary proceeding
expenses. You are covered up to $2,500 for expenses that result from the
investigation, settlement, defense or appeal of disciplinary proceedings. These
expenses do not include any fines, penalties or sanctions assessed against you.
Extended reporting period.
If you have been insured with The St. Paul continuously for three years, you are
an individual, and your policy is not renewed as a result of your death, your
total disability or your retirement, we will add an extended reporting period
for an unlimited time with no additional premium.
Special Endorsements.
Annuity or mutual fund
sales. If you are an annuity or mutual fund representative who is licensed
by a state or the National Association of Securities Dealers, optional coverage
for annuity or mutual fund sales may be available for an additional premium.
Audited financial
statements. An optional endorsement that broadens your coverage for the
preparation or verification of audited financial statements for your clients may
be available for an additional premium.
